Bangladesh Public Service Commission’s Biography

 


The people, owner of a state, elect one government and mandate it to run the state. The government runs different activities for state. Highly experienced and dedicated officials are need for the state. Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) leads the job.


BPSC is constitutional organization which was established in 1971 under the article 137-141 of the constitution of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. It has one chairman, the chief official, and other 13 members.  The Hon’ble President of the Republic appoints the chairman and other members. The chief justice administers oath the chairman and other members. Their tenure is 5years or 65 years of age whichever comes earlier. One can be member for two times if his/her age is below 65 years.  The current chairman is Md. Sohorab Hossain and secretary is Mst. Asia Khatoon.


The BPSC recruits the highly experienced officials through BCS (Bangladesh Civil Service) exam and other relevant exams. It helps the govt. in formulating a welfare oriented service condition for employees and helps the govt. in maintaining discipline in the service.
